If you are looking to rehome him, then you can just as easily find him a hen or two right now...people will start looking to rehome their "extra" chickens that they don't want to feed over the winter.
I bet you can surely find someone who has some girls just about the same age. I wouldn't leave him to be by himself over the winter though...he'll get lonely and sad.
Plus the extra chickie bodies in the winter will be much appreciated (extra warmth). Just keep your eyes peeled........someone has the hens that you want/need
