i have 4 weeks old chicks that i am sure are roos their waddles are red as they are comming out, but i have some that are just coming out but they are pale? not one bit of red in them would these be hens? i am going to be culling them on craigslist as roos to be honest to my customers. these are barred rock/leg horn mix they look just like barred thought have some that are just mixed that someone gave me to hatch and i have no clue what they are but they are black/brown,

thanks ma hen

If their combs are getting pink/red and they are getting wattles at 4 weeks old, then they are boys. The girls will have a small comb and it won't be pink at that age.

My pullets are 12 weeks old and they are just starting to turn pink. My boys got their comb/wattle growth really early.

i will take some picks they all have combs some as you say are red but by the waddles they are red thank you for replying i will get the pics by 4:eek:o ish est,

ma hen or earlier if they will hold for me my son helps me out lol

here is my pic i hope it post right, the waddles are like a nice yellow tannish, no sign of red, like my others that are coming out red, and the combs no sigh of red, the combs of the others that the waddles are red are now starting to turn reddish.

thanks for your opinion,it is hard,my others are easy, i want to keep some hens but not roos,

thank you, do you mean by darker the waddles by the tan color? she/he is mixed with a leg horn
