New to Silkies, a little help?

They are going to be Buff Silkies...

Thanks for everyones replies. I'm hoping for one roo! One question though, can two silkie roos co-exist? My prior experience with large breeds is that you should not have two roos together. Is that the same general rule with silkies?
Thanks again

I agree, Buff Silkies. They look like they will be pretty. I got beautiful nonbearded white Silkies from Cackle Hatchery and they are the most amusing birds I have ever seen. Good luck with yours!

So do you think these are nonbearder silkies?

I'm not sure. I do know that I raised 2 RIR roos that lived together just fine. They had their differences though. Never got bad, just a few quarrels to ensure the pecking order. The more subordinate would test the dominant roo to see if he could move up! But nothing ever got bad between them. Oh and they were with hens too - if that factors into behavior.

I so want another Silkie! I have a little girl and would love to get her a boyfriend! LOL!

Usually yes. Hatchery silkies have more an issue kept together then breeder silkies do however. So if you got these from a hatchery line then you would be advised to keep a close eye on them as they get older. But most the time, roosters kept together through out the whole period of their lives will be fine together.
