Yup, I can see. Good idea! I tried to use an X-pen with plywood. Pain in the neck. All the while, I had unused dog crates in the shed. Thanks for the reply! Your way next time!

We only used the the big crate as a temporary coop when i finally brought the babies outside. During the day the were in the same run as the older one just separated by a portable dog pen/fencing. If you look closely at the run picture you can see the fence behind the door. That is now gone/folded up. They little ones have a small block and some tree limbs in the run to hide under when the rooster (kids named him paul rabil because when he was little he couldn't go anywhere without getting mobbed by the hens. Its a lacrosse thing) gets a little aggressive.
