I can send you some eggs from mine in the spring. I am putting my Legbar/Leghorn male over several Brown Leghorn pullets from Don Schrider. They will all be single barred, both males and females this generation. You would just have to cull through the blue eggs/crests but that isn't difficult.I need something to produce crele pullets but don't have anything.
Only barred males are silver based so they won't produce gold pullets.
Gold males no barring so no barred pullets.
Sucks but guess it'll give me a goal for next spring.
No we have never had a black bear this close to home that I know of. I'm not worried exactly either, but when bears get hungry and brave they tend to make a nuisance of themselves. The dogs to well to bark and deter most predators but I'm not taking any chances. I am penning up anything I can't afford to lose out of the free ranging grow outs.We are in the same boat. The game cam is quite a ways from the coop (maybe a quarter mile) but he has been locking the chickens up for me at night anyway. I am not worried about it. I don’t think the bear will wander down this far and I can’t imagine it going after chickens unless it’s desperate. I have more experience with grizzlies than black bears though so maybe I’m wrong. I have never known anyone who lost chickens to a bear. Feed, yes. Actual chickens, no. Have you had black bears go after your chickens?
He is looking for a pick-a-nick basket!
I knew!Another thing I've learned is that apparently a venomous snake that has been decapitated can bite you with the decapitated head.
It's happened on two episodes. In one it bite the guy twice. Who knew? Not Moony
Yep. I finally got my blues and splash. They were so annoying. The rooster wouldn’t roost with the hens and the hens wouldn’t lay. I never witnessed him breeding, not once. I told them they would be on the next chicken truck out of here and I wasn’t playing.Wait what? You're out of the BC business?
these things are Gods gift to raising chicksI made that stand the other day for two brooder tubs. They're not the same. One is wider, longer and quite a bit taller then the other. Not a big deal just a lot more room then the one needed.
But hey I scored this on way home off marketplace. It's an exact match to the bigger one. Gonna look sweet with side by side matching ones and bonus another brooder.
