That's a good idea.... For the feed and watered. Yeah, I had planned on the beams across the top to be able to support the run better and to be able to staple of screw the hardware cloth to. Also, wanted to be able to attach shade for the birds. Are your birds out already? Did you have a hard time after brooding them getting them used to the outdoors? I just read a post where someone was having a hard time getting his birds used to the heat in North Texas. He had raised his chicks inside in the ac. Mine are inside in my room, but in a kennel with a heat lamp. The thermometer reads 85 T their level. I started at 95 and over the last couple weeks have brought the temp down a bit. I'm in central Texas and its in the 90's already. 97 next week. Don't want my chicks to die from heat stroke!

chicks will find a place that is coolest or warmest when needed.. if the chicks don't want to gather around the heat lamp. .it's probably too hot.. so raise it up or remove it

when my family brought the chicks home when they are already this old (i don't know the exact age)

so i put them out in a temporary pen on day 1

1-2 weeks or so later theystarted to jump out of the pen so i had to put hardware cloth over it since the coop/run was not ready

i'll bring them inside the house in the evening and put them back outside during the day

so for us we skipped the brooding step of raising chickens pretty much since the outside temperature was already 85-90 at the time

saved some money on brooding stuff

but because of it my chicks didnt' take long to get used to their new coop/run-- since they are already outside during the day..
