Hello everyone thank you soo much for the having me in your community. In 1 short week I will be the happy, possessive crazy chicken lady LOL my boys 9&11 have helped choose breed and order (feed store) pullets and have been super busy helping me paint and get their coop ready. We are converting an old dog kennel/ woodshed into the girls new home. We decided to start with 12 7 week old pullets 6 red sex link and 6Plymouth barred rocks. I am already so impressed and in awe of all the information within your community. Thank you and I'm off to explore

If you intend to keep all 12 pullets they would require 48 square feet in the coop ( 4 sg.feet per bird) and 120 square feet in the run (10 sq.feet per bird). that's the basic size. If they have more room - they will not complain

Thanks our coop is 79 sq ft and our run is 192 sq ft. I still some room if my heart melts and I add a few more
