This website is so fabulous! I started visiting it over 2 years ago when I first started thinking about having some byc's! We are now in a neighborhood that allows it, and we bought our first chicks this spring! They are about 4 weeks old now and we love them! I appreciate all of the advice here and look forward to enjoying my chicks!

Have you visited the Learning Center, it is full of very useful information. From there you can check out other threads on coops, predator control, raising baby chicks and so on. You may also want to go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum to locate and post on your state thread.

People in your actual area can give you the best information on dealing with your climate, breeds that do well, where the best feed stores are, etc. etc.

Welcome to BYC! I'm pretty new on here too but I'm loving it. I've learned a lot so far but you basically learn as you go. I hope you enjoy your chicks, I sure love mine. :)
