(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am not new to chickens. I had a flock of 20 for 2 years. Then a new neighbor moved in with free range and no fence around their yard. Their chickens disappeared. My chickens were in a large run and within the week of me noticing the other chickens disappeared mine were all slaughtered. 😭 I checked the run and could not figure out how the killer got in.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Zero 😭

(3) What breeds do you have?
I had several different kinds. My favorites were my Asian blues and Rocket. I had a few leghorns, an Easter, and some that were red.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I loved visiting them and when they followed me around the run.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I sew, woodworking, epoxy art, messing with my cricut, and soon my husband and I are building a blacksmithing area so we can make knives.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have other pets, dogs, cats. I just graduated from massage school.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I have been visiting this forum for 3 years. Started reading posts before I bought my first baby chicken. And I have just comeback after a year because I have switched to ducks and saw there is a duck area in the forum. 🥰. I have added pictures of my babies that I had taken. Don’t mind the empty water bowl. It had a leak and there was a new water system behind me for them.

Thank you for joining us at Backyard Chickens. Did you find any signs of where a predator(s) entered? If you don't have a top on your run, it could have been predators that can climb/jump or raptors.

I had a tight top on. As I was taking it down I couldn’t find anything. My friend think it might have Ben something from the weasel family. The new home for my ducks is going to be like Fort Knox, and the people down the street never replaced their flock.
