New to the Duck World

[4 ever Orpington]

We first-time duck owners. Our dirty dozen are 3 weeks old and a variety of breeds including: Blue and Black Swedish, Welsh Harlequins, Black Cayuga, and Indian Runners. We don't have names for all of them yet. So far we have a Lucy, Lily, Francis, Marion, and Grace O'Malley. Trying to figure out their personalities.

As a family, we wanted some animals that would be fun and produce something for us: eggs. Our kids have an entrepreneur spirit and want to give selling eggs a try. We read and studied about ducks for a year, but I know experience is better than any book. We joined this community so we could learn from the experts! So far, they are more fun than we expected!

We are a homeschool family. Our other hobbies are making sourdough breads and rolls, pizzas, and other baked goods. We love to build and make things with what we have on our little beginning homestead. In the process of building a duck house that is a design of my own. I love to paint, craft, sew, bake and gardening. We all love playing bluegrass music together.
