New to the Flock

We have a boxer who opens doors too. We have to block him. He always leaves the door wide open with the central air running. He's a couch potato.

Bella also opens doors.
Three times she let everyone out of the house.
She apparently can also lock a sliding glass door. Imagine my surprise one frosty winter morning when I was coming back from tending the chickens to find myself locked out of the house! Thank goodness I have a spare key to the front door hidden on the property.

Sounds like we have the same dog. Mine is currently asleep in my bed right now. Mine will also help himself to a "cold bone" from the ice maker too

Oh, that's awesome! I almost started my entire flock last year with Speckled Sussex, when I first started out with chickens, but my MIL backed out of splitting the chick order with me, so I had to cancel. What a bummer!! I do love my Australorps, but I would still love to get some Speckled Sussex before too long, too.

Hello everybody. I'm new to the flock. I grew up on a farm and I'm so excited we are getting chicks in just 5 more days! I bought a house last year and have been busy putting up fences and collecting animals

I was just clicking around the other day and almost commented on something that was posted in 2013 lol. I figured out I need to stick to the "What's New" tab. I also found a thread for us SC folks. Good to know who's close to you and be able to talk to them. I'm just trying to pass the time till these new babies get here. Then the question will be, will my dogs remember that chicks are not pre-cooked nuggets! My boxer taught my beagle to be nice to chickens but that was 5 years ago. Hopefully they both remember
