New to the forum but have a Question about my run

Hello,
I have a question about putting an evergreen tree in my run area. I want to put an evergreen tree in my run 14 x16 but im going to plant it in a big pot so i can keep it prunned. Does anyone know if an incense cedar is toxic to the chickens? I would appreciate any advice

Cedar trees themselves are not toxic to chickens what so ever. Its the Eastern Cedar wood shavings that release strong oils into the air and in an enclosed area like a brooder or a very air tight coop that the aroma can damage the lungs. The trees are not at all harmful to chickens. We live in a sea of cedars, the only one that suffers is me, I am horribly allergic to them!

Thanks so much. I wanted to give them a little landscaping since they are not free range right now. They are only 12 weeks and we have way too many predators on our land

Those trees are not that aromatic and will provide shade and protection for the birds. Great choice on trees!
