We got our baby chicks 4 weeks ago. There were 18 of them, but we just lost one from unexplained sudden death. I'm hoping to learn how to give them the best care and how to look for warning signs that something might be wrong.
It's not unusual to lose a chick or two in the beginning, some may not be thriving from the start .Or may have some internal deformity that is not readily apparent.
Welcome to BYC! Sorry for the sudden loss of your chick! Hatching and transportation is rough on the little ones. They get tougher as they get older!
Thanks for joining our flock!
Welcome! I'm so sorry for your lost chickie. I've found many helpful articles on this site. Pretty sure I would have lost one already without the forums here! We've got 17. Good luck.
Welcome to BYC! I'm so sorry you lost your chick. Sometimes there isn't really any warning that anything is wrong.
Good luck with your remaining chicks, I hope you enjoy raising them.
