Well what to put.... I first started keeping chickens last august purely because a friend of the family has chickens and my middle son (who's 5) took a liking to them and we went to a local agricultural show and bought a Columbian Blacktail Hybrid, she is a lovely bird she is the only one who is allowed in the house as she sits on my sons knee and watches cartoons with him and falls asleep. We then ended up buying sum more we got 2 cochin's and 3 Silkie Bantams. Unfortunatley i had to rehome my favourate cochin as it turned out to be a cockeral he was a fab bird so friendly.
We have now have had to move our flock to a farm as we had a few too many for where we live (council estate) to be precise 10 too many lol. We have gone a bit chicken mad and the flock seems to have multiplied rather quick as we now have a total of 23 chickens, various breeds ranging from Cochin to brahma's to a wyandotte.
We have now decided to start to breed, it is now going to be a full time job but i love every minute of it.
