I figured I'll try using the whole template:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We got our first flock of chicks in May. My family had chickens a few years when I was younger in early 90s.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
9.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Seven Barred Rocks and two Buff Orpingtons
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Fresh delicious eggs. It's rewarding to keep the chickens happy, I like feeding them kitchen and garden scrap.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Building stuff, gardening, mushrooming, forestry, chess, probably others.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have four cats. Dogs are in the near future. Living in NH on about 4 acres of land, mostly forest, surrounded by forest.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
After searching for certain chicken related questions, I kept running into these forums and thought it would be natural to sign up.
Attached are some images of the chicken coop I built (as we raised the chicks in the basement), some of the chickens are visible.
