I'm up here in Shawano County with Silkies and an insulated coop that's heated so it doesn't freeze, as opposed to my neighbor farmer who throws up four walls and a roof and calls that a coop for her Brahmas and guineas. She lost one of each last winter. I lost none. :)

If you need a coop, I would check marketplace for ice-fishing houses. Those are usually insulated and well-ventilated already and surely could hold 4+ chickens.

That’s a great idea. I never thought of I’ve fishing shanties. I figured I’d have to insulate it I’ll look into it
