My name is Kathy and my husband an I have a small flock of mixed breed chickens here in Orleans county NY.
We've had them now about 5 years.
Before we met I owned a small farm called Fainting Ridge Farm. I had Myotonic goats a few sheep about 30 chickens mini horses and 2 cows.
I also bred Great Pyrenees livestock guard dogs.
We still have a female Pyrenees named Blossom.
My new husband totally fell in love with the chickens. Much to my surprise. He's more of a city boy. We also have 18 grandkids that love em too. So now we have 7 hens and a roo on one side and 2 hens and a giant rooster on the other side. We've had not one health problem untill about 2 months ago. One of the hens was dead at 5 am when we went out to open the coop.
I was a member of BYC many years ago and learned alot back then. So I decided to come back. The members are so friendly and helpful this is the place to learn and have fun. I may even be able to help out someone else.
