I grew up in rural Upstate NY on a three acre farmette. We grew most of our own food, meat and veggies. I have always loved chickens.
We are currently living in the suburbs of Colorado Springs, CO and my kids got me chickens for Mother's Day! We got a tiny little coop from Big R and built a run, but mostly the chickens have the freedom of the entire back yard. Not permitted to have any roosters, so will always need to purchase my replacements. We have four Silver-laced Wyandottes and four Gold-Laced Wyandottes. They are four and three months old and not yet laying. Having a lot of fun making them into pets and listening to their voices change.
