The blacks are good birds so far, they are alittle more shy. I have only had them about three weeks, but they seem to love to be handled once they are used to you. The size difference is amazing. The black are very much bigger. What else can be said about the buffs. We love them.


I believe Buff Orpingtons were voted the #1 chicken by backyard chicken keepers. I agree 100%

This seemingly huge size difference really has me wondering if you might have Black Jersey Giants instead of Black Orpingtons. Externally BJGs and Blk. Orps look alike except for the larger size of the BJGs, but their is an easy and certain way to tell for sure. Look at the bottoms of their feet. If they are yellow, you have Black Jersey Giants. If not, then they are Black Orpingtons. I would love to know for sure.
 
They are not yellow. When I get a chance I'll post a pic.
