I got 6 hens a year old, coop and run included. They had a week of stress then started molting, I gave them protein cat food and the following week started laying. Problem I found the eggs broken. Watched and found the culprit w'as Loverly'. Now have her in a plastic carton separate from the other hens. Today got 3 beautiful eggs, so now I wondered if Loverly can be cured of her egg breaking?

trim her beak back to where it just bleeds, and put a ceramic egg in with her. most of the time when they get sore from pecking on the ceramic egg they will stop trying to break eggs. also make sure she has plenty of calcium, oyster shell or otherwise.

From what I've read it's a pretty hard thing to do but I hope you are able to stop that behavior. Try putting golf balls in the boxes and gathering eggs as quickly as possible are two things that I've read. Good luck!
