Do you have plans to hatch eggs? If not, I don't think a roo is really necessary. If he doesn't fit in or gets too aggressive, don't feel bad if Rooster Soup is in his future!

Of course you can't hatch eggs from a flock without a rooster but you can buy hatching eggs

Welcome to BYC, and it sounds like a nice manageable number of birds. Are your RIR the deep mahogany ones or the lighter red? I have some mahogany hens, but lost my rooster last year.
