New to this. Need some advise.

How big of a coop do I need to build for 25eat chickens?

The general rule of thumb is 4 sq. ft. of floor space per bird in the coop and 10 sq. ft. of ground space in the run per bird, so for 25 chickens you would need a coop floor of at least 100 sq. ft. and a run area of at least 250 sq. ft. These numbers are bare minimum; more is always better. Overcrowding can quickly lead to aggression, fights, biting, feather plucking, and even cannibalism.

Most people up here in the north use a rule of about 2 sp ft per bird for large birds. That is what I did and no one I know of is having any trouble with that amount of space but we all have large range areas so they are only in the coop at night and in the summer they usually only go in to lay.

I wouldn't put them together till the little ones grow up some and catch up on size with the older one
