Since I was last active on this site I've been busy growing and losing my flock.
I had 30 chickens and lost all but 11. Still not sure what caused so numerous a chick and chicken death in 2 weeks time. I wanted to try to raise my flock with non HMO but after doing everything I could to save all my babies I've decided for now I'd rather play it safe and am using medicated food for my new babies.
I have 12 adult chickens and 19 new babies. Maybe the babies are what I call in their grade school phase.
They are all Cochins except for a few.
I recently purchased 3 baby ducks and seems no one at the coop knows what kind they are but I'm thinking they are Pekin. I sure didn't know what I was getting into by thinking I wanted Ducks. Ha! They are a constant chore keeping their cage clean. Oh well I enjoy them anyway.
So wish me luck and I'm sure I will have many questions.

sorry to hear about your losses. Hope you find out the cause for the illness.

We are glad you joined our flock.
Ducks are horrible in the brooder but are much cleaner once they grow up. A kiddie pool is a wonderful investment.
