Hello there folks. I'm new to the site and have a few questions. Just curious as to what is the benifit to putting limestone under my shavings in my coop? Also my 27 week old leg horns for some reason stopped laying, all at once. Just curious why this would happen?

Welcome to BYC. I guess the lime makes for a more basic coop situation and cuts down on odor. I use it in the area of my dog pens. Your hens stopping laying at the age is odd. Have there been any changes in their environment, diet, shortage of water, predator presence or attacks, additions to or removals from the flock - has anything out of the ordinary happened? Are they eating normally and do they appear to be healthy and 'normal' in all other aspects?

There has been a few 5 month old Easter eggers added to the coup. And They were in a small run and then I built a bigger shed for them. When I moved them in the new place they were laying fine. Then just suddenly stopped. They have constant feed and water. No predators. Just seems strange to me. We have never had this happen with any of our other birds.. Any tips on getting them to lay again?
 
That is weird - you may want to post at "chicken behaviors and egg laying." Maybe they think they are being replaced by younger birds, and therefore about to meet the axe ie, "hunger games" for chickens.
