Hello ive managed to hatch and incubate a chick she is now 2 days old but seems a little drowsy and sleep alot.please help me. Ive been giving her electrolytes she has red light in brooder.

First how hot is it in the brooder---you got a thermometer. You for sure do not a red 250 watt heat lamp----they have killed Many chicks---but you can make the Over Kill light work if you raise it enough and aim it where the chick can have a cool area to get away from the heat, BUT if its 2 days old it needs close 100 degree spot to get to warm----Spot---about the size of a plate on one end of your brooder.

Sugar water can give it a boost.

Thanks so much the heat is at 90 she has perked up through the night and is now eating and drinking on her own. Really happy.Thanks for responding to me.

If 90 is the warmest "spot" thats a little to cold for a 2 day old chick. Good Luck
