(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My wife and I just got our second flock 3 months ago in Detroit, MI. Previously we had a flock for 4 years in Austin, TX. I grew up with a flock next door at a neighbor's house.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now we have SEVEN 3.5 month old chickens, 5 pullets and 2 cockerels.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Ameraucana (Female), Rhode Island Red (F), Buff Orpington (F), Barred Rock (F,F), Plymouth Blue Rock (Male), Black Australorp (M)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Love the entertainment value of a flock pecking around the backyard. And eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Carpentry, house restoration, gardening, cooking, baking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Wife and I live with 2 dogs and 2 cats in an old house in Detroit, MI.
