New to Wyandottes

Judging by these random dark spots, I'm saying definite splash on the second.

Saying splash in the first because it's so light.

This is my rooster. He has a spot or two on his tail but He’s blue (unless I’m misunderstanding something). He bred my lavender Orpington and threw blue and black chicks. If he were splash I think he would only have thrown blue with her, right?

Not trying to contradict you. You know way more about this stuff than I do.

We have 4 Wyandottes, that we got from a BYCer, not far from where we live. 2 are Blue Laced Red Wyandotte's, both with rose combs. And 2 splash Wyandottes, both with rose combs. They have been great additions to my flock.
We went on a short get away and left DD in charge of the chickens. She did a pretty good job. When we got in yesterday evening. (very tired). We locked up the chickens and noticed we were missing a hen. We looked for a while and decided that she may have decided to find a nest under the house and was brooding. (We had surprise chicks earlier in the same way)
Tonight, I locked everyone up and my Wyandotte was still missing. I started looking again, and went over to the swimming pool. To my surprise there was my Wyandotte, sitting in the swimming pool, on a garden hose. She was wet and unhappy, she must have been there for at least 24 hours. I pulled her out with a pool skimmer net.
I picked her up and dried her some with my shirt and carried her back to the coop to roost. I think she will be fine with a good night's rest. The temp here is upper 80's- low 90's. What an adventure for my poor little girl. :th

I have Welsummers but recently added some Wyandotte to my flock from someone who was moving away.
She bought them from Cackle as Red Splash Wyandotte but they are very different looking from each other. Is this a natural color difference that happens between birds of this breed or is one actually another strain? Thanks for the help!

"Lula" - bright white lace & feathers, rose comb
"Bluebell" - blue/gray lace, flat comb
Nice to see my post from February is still alive. Recently, Lula went broody. I let her be and she hatched three baby chicks. I'm not sure if any of them were her eggs or not (she was on one nest for a week and then switched to another and stayed for the duration). The babies are now four weeks old and she has been an outstanding mother!
