Hello
I am Jeni and I raise chickens and kinda some ducks, I have 15 chicken and 6 ducks.
i recently raised my 10 box nesting area off the ground due to my 4 younger chickens sleeping in the boxes and now my adult hens r laying on the ground ..... I am so frustrated

Hi and welcome to BYC. non-laying pullets tend to be subordinate to laying birds and may not feel safe roosting with mature flock members. The article on Space requirements may help:

Welcome to BYC! To fix your issue, create some sort of cover to block off the boxes at night. Chickens poop a lot in their sleep and that makes the nest boxes unpleasant to lay in. Once your boxes are blocked every night, they will stay cleaner, and you layers will feel more comfortable in them
