I got of them but they are a lot more brown

He's going to make a very handsome roo. You can see the shinier, darker buff saddle feathers and hackle feathers starting to come in.

I would say about 2 months old. And it's a roo. You can see a few shiny feathers on his back. And his comb is very red too.

thanks everybody... so the consensus seems to be between 2 and 3 months then... good to know... I am fairly confident that the people I bought from had him labeled properly(I have yet to get one bird from them that they were wrong about or hear anyone claim of getting one... the oldtimer who runs the joint knows his stuff), but Rocky turns out to be a Rockette,I won't mind... no harm, just fowl, so to speak

... about how old should he be ready to introduce to the other birds?.. and what would be the best way to do so?...

I think once he is done in quarantine he should be big enough to go with your flock. And I see shiny feathers coming in so I think he is a boy too, a very handsome one.

here are some better pics... my GF was home today and decided to let him run around outside with the others for a little while... I took some more pics when I got home... and as you see in the bottom one, he has spurs starting, so my money is firmly on rooster now...never seen a pullet with spurs... the pic doesn't really show it very well, but it ain't easy getting a camera that close to a chickens foot and having them stay still...

All chicks have little bumps like that, but he is a roo.

Those are some bright yellow legs! I think brahmas have pink/white legs. Probly a Brahma Cross.

I cant cite the Standard of Perfection(cause I don't have a copy), but all the pics I have seen online (even in the breed database on here) show yellow legs, and I found this site that says

They have a yellow beak and reddish brown eyes, as well as yellow shanks and toes.

so I am not sure he is a cross...​
