New (unusual) Button Quail Chick

Pics
The quail that I have been calling ivories now have ginger faces. No coloured belly, chest or vent Feathers. just faces. Is this normal??

I've just had a close look at our ivory girl that we've kept and she does have a slightly gingery face. She's slightly cream/beige all over which comes from that caramel colour being in the mix I think. She's not as white as others I've seen. I'll download the camera soon when I can get on the computer! She seemed quite relaxed as I took photos so I let my guard down. Next thing I know she was flying through the air and disappeared. About half an hour later I found her on a windowsill!

Here we go:

So far I've only got Ivory girls, but I keep looking hopefully at my little ones growing up. A few look very white so we'll see.

Howdy everyone, some exciting news my buttons laid 2 eggs. Now I know that out of the 4 of them 1 is female, 2 are males. the last white one I was even told on this site it was a wait n see type. Now today I checked and my silver girl laid her first egg. But, I also found one other one in a different spot. Is this egg most likely from the white one?? Thanks 4 help

It's a good bet it is. See if you keep getting 2 eggs a day and then you'll know for sure. Are they exactly the same colour? Keep us posted.

I meant to post these before too!
My Caramel boy is starting to get some red on his tummy:

And I have one of my soft brown chicks turning into a boy - the grey is just starting on his chest and he's getting a hint of white at the base of his neck round his chin:

My daughter is very good at handling them - her hands are just the right size!

I'm also wondering if a female I picked up when we drove down to pick up my Bourkes parakeet is what the chicks like Amber will turn out like. I initially couldn't decide if she was a cinnamon or a wild but she didn't quite look like either of those - too dark and patterned for a cinnamon but too light to be a wild hen. So I assumed it might just be a variation on the cinnamon colour. But with Amber getting such an orange face and looking like a diluted wild hen I'm starting to think that's what this girl is (the one at the front):

She's in with the male on the previous page and he looks like a diluted wild cock, so it will be very interesting to see what pops out of their eggs that are in the incubator, due to start hatching very soon. :fl

@JaeG Yeah now its weird! So the past 2 days I got 2 eggs. Now today only 1?? Really weird.

When you get two are they the same colour? I seem to have a variety of shades of grey, green and brown, sometimes speckled, although I have two sisters whose eggs look the same (and I haven't figured out who lays what for most of them as I have a group of 3 males with 4 females and it shouldn't be working, but for now it is so :fl none of them begin making trouble).

They both are green. Although 2 of the 7 eggs that I've now picked up are a lighter green kinda yellow tint. Im sure theres 2 M 2 F cause theres no fighting and everyone seems happy :) thank you for the help!

(sorry i read your comment 2 fast and started typing 2 fast. Yes most of the time 2 of the eggs are green..)

Ok, here's a weird one for you. I have a bird that's feathering up like a cinnamon male, except it has no white chin/bib. It has a lovely red tail, yet it isn't getting the grey and red on the chest like the other young cinnamon males, though it is darkening up on its back, wings and head just like they are. So it will be very interesting to see what that turns into!

Here's one of my cinnamon females colouring up in the usual way - they are quite uniform in the way they colour up (she looks a little darker under the light of the camera flash):

And your standard cinnamon boy colouring up as he should with the darker grey coming through:

And here is 'Oddball' who has a definite light chest then darker wings, back and head (greyer than the females):

And there's that red tail!? It has a small patch of feathers round its vent still to fill in but there's no red there at present. A weird one, that's for sure! Especially seeing as we don't have the bluefaced mutation here (not that its face is in any way blue - it's just lacking the white bib like they do).

Also wanted to show off the caramel male who is just beautiful. I wish he'd stay like this but I know he will darken up a lot more.

I have some beautiful ivory males too:
