No, he said it was "something big" like a dog or cat - or I suppose a possum or raccoon would fit the bill too.... there is no way a dog could get in our yard, and there is only one neighborhood cat i've ever seen in our yard - and he's friends with the chickens. We've never had any problems with predators. I bring the girls into our garage at night, and they are in a secure coop/run when no one is home.....
...if your vet felt it was bite and is not giving a systemic med then keep an eye out for signs of infection such as listlessness and ruffled feathers...
