My friend's husband is in service and was invited to the White House Easter Egg Roll a couple years ago. He brought home a ton of the wooden eggs, so my friend gave one to me as a souvenir. While I was unpacking a few more boxes the other day (I don't think I'll EVER be totally unpacked!), I found the egg and decided it would be perfect to use in the coop as a nest box "decoy" (it is a wooden egg, after all!). One side has the Bushs' signatures on it and the other has some kind of official WH logo. I've noticed, since putting it in the nest box, that the egg is being turned daily, but so far have gotten no eggs from any of my pullets (they're almost to laying age). Just thought I'd share in case anyone has one or more of these eggs laying around that they don't mind getting a bit messed up by chickens

I figured it was free and looks more like the real thing than a golf ball.

At least the pullets seem to know what to do with it. Now, if they'd just lay more eggs to go with it, but my son and I seem to think they might be waiting for another "egg delivery" from the same place that one appeared from
