New w i d e r convertable nest box

Can racoons and other critters disengage a good old fashioned hook-and-eye? I mount it on the side and make sure it snaps into place. You could just as easily add a hasp and padlock. Racoons can't pick locks, can they? <(o;}

I have a question for those who responded. Would any of you think badly of me if I sold these nest boxes? How much do YOU think they should sell for?

Thanks, Dr.Doorlock

Yes, detailed specs and instructions would help my DH (when I try to explain what I want for nest boxes!!

Thanks for sharing!!

Maybe I shouldn't have entered that last little quip about plans. I would have to measure off one of the boxes. I just build stuff without plans, but I could make them up. I'm trying to decide what to do with this idea. I could really use the extra money if I could sell these boxes. What do you think?

That should do it, that is what I use for the door to the run and so far so good. I just wanted to see if you had any special way to keep it secured. Thanks for the info and the idea!!

They could figure out the hook-and-eye. I use hasps closed with caribeeners. That would take a bit more thinking on the coon's part.
