Apollo went to move at the last second but was too slow. The bullet went into his but not far enough to kill him. Nina was helping Steve and the others against the dog when she saw the other goose get hit.

Ruby flew after Chester to help him fight the hunter. Apollo had never been in so much pain before and hoped everyone would make it out alive. He wasn't sure if he would.

Steve was going to respond but before he could one of the dogs that had ran in front of the others jumped out of some tall grass at Amber. Steve jumped up and started flying towards the dog squawking.

The dog didn't care because Steve was a tiny little, fluffy bird. He grabbed the goose's leg, dragging it to the hunter, the hunter approached Amber and pointed his gun, so Amber hid Steve and ran to the hunter and attacked him, she was then shot in the heart while trying to save the goose, she fell to the ground.
