Hello, I am new to backyardchickens and am very excited to be here :) I have a little girl name Petunia she is an Ancona chicken and she is about 20 weeks old. I am pretty sure she is singing the egg song :) but I have never heard the egg song before so im not positive. The poor girl has some nasty looking yellowish bumps right above where her legs meet on her underside and on the back of her neck. Her beak also has some black spots, however her beak is smooth and it doesn't hurt her when I touch it. Her sores kind of stink. I have no idea what this is. I have been researching for the last two days and its just too much. her feet look to be slightly webbed? im not sure if they are supposed to look like that. I am new to owning a chicken. She is pretty much a house chicken. I have four other 4 week old chicks that are separated from her,(they are establishing a pecking order now)

so she pretty much gets the run of the house. Like today she was being very very loud (shes spoiled and knows I will come get her) until I picked her up, then silence. She just lifted her beak to me for a kiss. I am worried that the sounds she is making might not be the egg song but her telling me she is hurting :( Nothing hurts her when I touch it. She sleeps a lot. I love my chicken. Please tell me its not something serious!

This first picture shows where the sore is located. It is right under my pinkee. You can see the yellow discoloration.

This is the close up of it. It might just be part of the chicken but it kinda smells pretty bad. Theres one that looks the same on the back of her neck but it doesn't have the black in the middle. I don't have a picture of her neck one. Here is a picture of the blackness on her beak.

I just really hope there is nothing wrong with her or like its an easy fix and it doesn't hurt her very much. I really love her. Please help me figure out whats wrong with her.

Welcome to BYC!! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

X2 on the link Kelsie2290 gave you. Hope she heals!! You should try some probiotics with her.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I do not know what is wrong with your baby. But definitely post this in our emergency section for more help. I hope she is going to be ok.

If you post photos on the emergencies thread, please try to get clear, closeups - the pictures are really too dark small, I couldn't even make out where you pinkie was.

The yellow, smelly ones may be abscessed from prior injury.

I've used activated charcoal on a chicken with gangrene and healed it. I made a wash but not so thick it becomes a paste, a mixture of the medical grade activated charcoal from the health food store or pharmacy and water. I painted it on heavy several times a day with a small, soft brush. Charcoal absorbs poisons (really ADsorbs, but most people don't know what that means) . Keep her cool so that she does not stress further from overheating. My chicken that had gangrene took about a week and a half to heal from a spot of gangrene the size of a quarter. Doctors will tell you this is not possible. You can also add some Echinacea root (powdered and mixed with some moist food she likes to get her to eat it) to her feed to boost her immune system. I have also combined golden seal with charcoal for bad wounds on animals, used the same as just the charcoal, and had them heal well. If you have colloidal silver to mix with the charcoal, that works even better than just water, as the silver has strong antibiotic qualities. I am a long-time herbalist (40 yrs.).

I have a question,I had my chicks out to exercise and my nephew accidentally stepped on one,she went into shock and wouldn't move I immediately picked her up and I thought she was dead so I headed outside,I felt her move so I set her in the grass and she began to run away, but she seems to not want to move one of her wings, what should I do?
