Hi there. We live in Florida and started raising chickens this year for eggs only. Our silver-laced wyandottes just started laying, and their eggs are tiny! Far smaller than even typical store bought eggs. Everything I read says they lay large eggs, so my question is, is it normal for their first eggs to be so little? Thank you!!

Welcome to BYC. It's normal for eggs to be small when they first start laying. Dont worry, they'll get larger as time goes by.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. X2 on dawg53. Those eggs will get larger as the laying continues. :o) Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your SLWs.

Thank you all! We are thoroughly enjoying this chicken experience. They have so much personality and when they lay eggs, we feel like proud parents!
