Hello everyone. I've found so much helpful information but I'm not finding the answers I need for this one.

We have 4 crowing roosters (2 full size, 2 bantams) and 3 young ones we would like to keep 2 of. Big boys have 22 girls, littles have their own ladies. We have babies almost ready to join the big kids. My ladies are all for eggs and my roos are pets that double as guards for the flock (not meat). We also have 4 ducks who happily roam with the Bantams and corturnix quail (separate). We're in the pacific north west. Breeds include Ayam Cemanis, Cochins, BCMs, Wyandottes, rescues, Mystic Onyx, Easter Eggers, Anconas, ......

We are actively looking for more land with fewer close neighbors. Currently we live outside city limits and are allowed to have them but there is that one neighbor that claims they are a prisoner in their own home due to our inconsiderate choices. To keep the peace for 3 months at most, how does the community feel about no-crow collars?

I'll never use them period. I'm in the country and this is where farm animals are kept. If a neighbor doesn't like it there are houses for sale in town.

Hello, from the posts I've read about the collars, the reviews are a mixed bag. Some say they help but others report they have lost roosters due to the collar being too tight and they hindered breathing or the rooster choking trying to swallow a larger piece of food. Personally, I would not risk using one. If you are legally allowed to have the flock you do, I wouldn't worry about the neighbor (or try to make them happier with eggs periodically maybe?). Hopefully, you have some luck finding the larger piece of land you are looking for!

Crow collars are quite risky, I wouldn't use the personally.

But I also don't see how a neighbor would be a prisoner in their home unless your birds were loose and

Thank you. I was hesitant but willing to investigate options.

We are very excited to have more land. Looking at property again tomorrow and have a builder lined up.

I wish free eggs would pacify her. She's vegetarian, convinced eggs from hens with roosters are babies, works from home, and is used to having control. Her husband is also a LEO so despite our right to have them, she gets her complaints heard in official channels

i would also love to have no close neighbors. i dream about it.
idk much about those collars, just sounds cruel
