New Year Block swap

Sorry to hear of your loss Kat. I hope you have some good memories of your brother to cherish into the future...

Thank you I do have some great memories, one I'll share I was a kid and he used to be the overnight Dunkin Donuts baker anyway I got to go to work with him and he couldn't believe I stayed awake all night.I think I was maybe 10 if that old. When he got off work we went to breakfast needless to say I couldn't eat, smelling that sweet smells all night and I was really tired so not feeling too good, but yes I do love DD's they are the best in the world.

Thank you,

Ladies,
I am still waiting on 2 sets so as soon as they come in I will sort and ship. We do have bad weather coming in so I don't expect the mail to run for at least 2 days, yep I did say that, as some of you know 2 inches of snow paralyzed Georgia. and they have shut everything down for the next 2 days. But the state of GA did nothing no salt, no sand and then they wonder why all the motorist were stranded on the highways. So now they have gone over board and no big trucks can come into the city (Atlanta) starting 7pm tonight until sometime in the morning, I'm north but our services here are not much better and we are expected to get 3 to 6 inches of snow and ice. This is the ground hog's revenge for being dropped. Boy I'd hate to see if we really got some winter weather. Crazy

I'm busy putting the blue/yellow stars quilt together and planning for the chicken block, especially since Anna's are so good I don't want to drag the team down, or be "The weakest link" lol so the delay isn't bothering me.

Yes she has set the bar high but that is good and no matter what we do all of our blocks are outstanding, even if we position squares to look like chickens they will be awesome and your paper piecing is off the chain

Thanks and I may very well revert back to it. I am going to attempt applique, but if it isn't "good" then I will do the paper piecing instead for sure. It's just so many cute patterns in the applique. The paper pieced ones I've found, except for the cool one you found, are either ultra simplistic or ultra intensive. If I go the paper pieced route I may have to experiment w/ pattern making. Good thing we have until June!!!!!

You'll do fine appliqueing. I dabble some in paper piecing and it is way harder then the applique I did. I also got into applique because there are just so many cute ideas and patterns out there. Maybe give it a shot. That is how I started too with swaps and I still have a lot to learn when it comes to applique. Your paper piecing is amazing!
