New Year Block swap

@quailtrail
 I would think maybe cut the block down to 11 inches all around and then add a border to make up for the difference just an idea.  I had to do this for one of my earlier swaps, trust me you only make that mistake once. :he

fenrosie glad you found the link

kassaundra she will have spoilers if you want to take a peek at the colors

rustyhen I did my first holiday quilt to give but I really don't want to have a Christmas tree in my quilt because you can't (to me) have it up all year, going to google different types of trees, just as long as the measurements match it should still work, let me know what you find.

fenrosie are you in?
thanks that's a great idea!!! My 10yo was trying to convince me to just do a whole new set and give these to her to make her oem quilt. She loves the blocks especially because they have chickens in there!!!! Lol!!!

your dau won't think it's a great idea

cathiesue your framing your block too?

@RustyHen I'm thinking of putting strips together and then cutting it to the tree shape just a thought, using whites and maybe browns, greens on a tan/light back ground, where are your thoughts going? or just a snow covered tree don't know just rambling.

Did I remember this is an applique quilt? If so I think tree sillohettes (sp) look really good.

@Kassaundra yes this block is appliqued so more info, on the silhouettes like the hows that sounds nice the size is supposed to be 5 X 9.5" OOPs 3.5 X 8 is the tree size the first measurement is the whole block

This is a crocheted block I did, something like it in applique

or these

I really like the sweet peas tree, and the jean purse thanks and your crocheted block is really pretty.

Most of the shapes are easy enough to be done either free hand or printed and traced. I would google tree sillohette pics find one that speaks to you and either free hand or trace.

Thanks that was one of my favorite crocheted blocks I've designed

@katsdar I looked around for a tree silhouette and found this type of primitive look that I like so I copied it over the top of the original tree, I'm going to cut it out of the green fabric you see here, it has an embossed look to it so maybe give some texture. Maybe add some seed beads after-wards. I'll have to see what the rest of the wall hanging looks like. Sorry, this is rough look but it works for me.
@Kassaundra I like all of those too.
