I have a hard time with new years stuff too. I now often set random goals throughout the year.Oh, gracious, I'm terrible at keeping New Year's Resolutions. Especially as I dislike all of my 2025 goals... it's going to take some serious self-discipline (which I do not have) to keep these.
- gain ten pounds
- pass the military PFT test with ease by my birthday (June)
- get a full-time job, whatever that looks like
- build, plant, and grow a garden
- learn to cook something
- stop a bad habit I've struggled with for years
Iām in awe! Very motivating to hear youāve kept such a great habit for that long.For 2025, I want to keep my perfect string of working out on the elliptical (387 days in a row so far!). I want to add 10K steps, and a 3 minute plank every day. I've been doing the last two for awhile, but making it a resolution makes it seem more official.
I plan to continue with oatmeal/steel cut oats for breakfast 5 days a week, and other healthy eating habits.
Part of the reason for doing this is to drop 20 points on my cholesterol by my next physical in July.

That's how the elliptical came about. One of our neighbors had a heart attack (Dec 6, 2023), and hubby and I both had a hard think about our health. Yes, I try to see it this way too. Good awareness to have.Each day is the start of a new year; it's just that we assign so much significance to January 1st because the year number changes.
