Nope, LG's aren't "bad"...just a little trickier than some others. Some people think they are the best to learn on because you have to be so hands on (checking temps regularly etc)

Attack chicken: Don't feel bad, I am running my first hatch in an LG still air incubator also.

I set my eggs yesterday so... I think New Years day because I didn't set them until 2:00 in the afternoon. I am hatching out 6 of my own mystery eggs (2 green, 4 brown) some 18 LF cochin eggs in BBS and 12 welsummers. I am freakin out!!! I hope as much as I babysit the incubator that I have a successful hatch.

I will be putting Australorps, easter eggers and a couple of mystery eggs in the bator tonight so I am hoping for a New Year's Day hatch. I'm going very low-tech, using a still-air Hovabator without an automatic turner, and this will be my first time incubating.

I just set a few too due on new years day...4 white crested black polish, 2 silkie (not sure they are fertile, young roo), 1 silver laced polish and 1 red cochin bantum. There are already 17 in the bator due on the 27, but looks like 9 are no good. They are in a forced air LG. Temp is steady at 99.5. What should the humidity be in these? I have another LG I will be using for hatching. It is still air, but I ordered a fan to put on it that should come in tomorrow.
