New Years Hatch Anyone?

It's okay! Seriously, it's better for them to go low than too high. Too low slows developement....too high...cooked babies. The may be a bit late, but with it just being overnight, they're probably fine!

Okay ... *breathe breathe* Thank you for the reassurance!

No problem....all will be well!

And on my still air that I use as a hatcher...I always have problems maintaining temps overnight. We usually set our house temp at 60 degrees (my hubby like it cold

) and once everyone's in bed I'm sure the air temp goes down a bit???? I don't know, that's the excuse I use

I hate this part... the waiting. Maybe if one of them did something I wouldn't feel so

I set them on the 10th at 2pm so I probably won't see anything until tomorrow night. Come out baby chickies!!!

Thanks! I got the idea from Chamelle. I used regular egg cartons the first 18 days and tilted the cartons from side to side with blocks under them for turning. I took a couple egg cartons and cut them in half and then cut the sides way down to were the eggs would sit inside but would have plenty of room all around to get out and such. And I hear it makes for an easier clean up. I think it worked out great.

WyanLuv, congratulations! I love the cut-up egg carton idea. I think I will do that on my next hatch.

I got my temp back up and stabilized by around noon today. I have no pips but it looks like several eggs have been moving because they have rolled to different places from where I put them last night.

That's wonderful!!! I think I have a pip...but with those darned buttons, it's sooo hard to tell and I'm starting to doubt myself!

You're absolutely right...don't touch the bator

I think you're at the hardest part in the entire incubation...and all you can do is sit on your hands and watch.
