I just candled my 7 eggs that my dear Sandy laid before she died and 4 out of 7 of them are definetly growing!!!!! I can see the viens and the embryo (bad spelling) in them!!!! I just can't wait. I know I'm getting my hopes up to much because they still could die. But I just can't believe after 14 days their still alive!!

I candled this evening and removed four eggs: three that were clear and one with a blood ring. Of the remaining eggs, there are only two that I can definitely see an embryo in. The rest have well-defined air cells but other than that, ambiguous shadowy shapes, although a few may have light veining. They'll all stay in the 'bator until the next candling when I can hopefully see better.

I'm due Jan 3rd. Did the intial candling already, I was left with:

4 golden laced cochins- bantam
6 b/b/s cochins- bantam
3 Seremas
9 true Americanas - standard

How did I miss this thread!? I have 18 potential babies in my bator...due 1 Jan. I have EE one white leghorn, and a few from my welsummer hens/BR roo. Should be interesting. Unfortunately...the only one I can see anything in...is the white leghorn. LOL The others are way too dark. We stop turning Monday....I cant waite to see these little ones. !
