New Year's Resolution Help

From one fat gal to another - if you force yourself to eat things you do not like, you are setting yourself up for failure. You CAN eat healthy and eat the foods you enjoy. If you prefer them cooked, then cook them, just not to the point of nonrecognition! Try to make changes away from crap foods to good foods. Food you LIKE.

You can eat broccoli, cauliflower, snow peas, green beans, cucumber, tomatoes, zucchini, etc..most any veggie can be eaten raw and taste good. Many taste better raw than cooked (to me anyway). If you want a mixed bowl of raw veggies (including leafy greens like spinach, collard greens, cabbage, etc), but don't want to add the calories, squeeze lemon over it. YUM! Several veggies like radishes, green onions, etc are really good with just a tidbit of salt!

A few years back I switched my diet to raw (or lightly steamed) veggies, fruit and lean meats. I lost 17 lbs easily and felt full!! Unfortunately I didn't stick with it and I gained weight from stress over the following years. Now I need to lose 50 lbs.

(30 of that is just to get back to where I was when I was eating better

As for energy...fruits (especially apples) are good and so are peanuts!

We're not fat...we're just happy to make ourselves larger to spread our joy!

I may just pick up some fruit while I'm at work so that I can have my sugary energy. Get an apple with peanut butter and call it good for lunch.

That way I can eat some cooked veggies (brocolli with melted cheese, that's somewhat healthy right?) when I get home. I think those frozen food bags are going to come in handy!

Thanks for the ideas guys!

Best of luck to you!

I've been kind of doing the same thing here, although, I've stopped eating all that junk, candies and such! Unfortunately, I've got a huge sweet tooth!

I mentioned this to my dr. and she said to stick mostly with proteins, and a few carbs, which is what I've been trying to do, with success, I might add!

Haven't been on a scale or anything, but I do feel it and see it in the way my clothes fit me now! I like you, feel tired, all the time. I can't stand that! Lets hope we can accomplish this endevor, right?!
