I also live in upstate New York in a small county called Otsego county on a small family owned and operated farm. We have Buffs and Rhode Island reds. There is probably about 30-45 chickens including a rooster here. I tend to the chickens every single day- water and feed if needed and as a great give them cracked corn. As soon as it gets light outside I let them out of their coop for the day than as soon as it begins to get dark they go inside to settle down for the night. I get between 15-20 eggs per day seeing how some of the buffs are still too young to start laying.
