New York to get the "Enterprise"

Great news for the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum. They will be getting the Space Shuttle Enterprise. I can't wait to take a trip down to the city in 2012 and see it first hand. Very exciting!

And then.... I read your post, and realised you are not talking about the 'Enterprise' from 'Star Trek'.

New York can have the real life one (or rather, the one from this dimesion)

But I am curious... why is NY getting it? I don't know much about NASA but I didn't think there was a base in NY... seems that the city that's home to the liftoff is where a ship should come home to roost. But that's just me.... and clearly I'm officially a chicken person (after only a year) if I'm talking roosting in regards to giant rockets. Oh well.

Seriously, if the world spent even 1% of their entertainment dollars on figuring out how to make a replicator we'd be SO much better off! Even Harry Potter didn't figure out THAT trick!

Reading a bit and this ship was tested out in Cali, Edwards for a bit... seems odd that it'll be shipped as far from it's "home" as is possible without leaving the US. Oh well, that's politics for you.

What I really want though... Beaming techology... Just think.. Inlaws coming over? Beam.. sunny beach. Travel? No more "Are we there yet?"... More like "Are all my peices here?" and my favorite use of the Transporter... delivering babies!
