Thanks for the joi.n. My name is Tonya I have a few questions idk if this is where I ask but here goes. I have 4 chickens,4 ducks, and one turkey. My turkey got attacked by a bear, thank God the bear didn't kill him, but he is hurt. Idk what to do for him I've cleaned it with peroxide, put medication on it but as we we're looking we found out it was worse than we thought, he has a pretty big hole his food amd water comes out. I've read people putting their finger over the whole but that's not possible it to big and long it's about 1/2 inch wide a 2 1/2 inches long. It looks pretty good as far as no black or anything. I just need to know if anyone can tell me what I can do to fix him?! I don't know if I should take the meat that came out of the whole and put it back and if I do how?? I've never had a turkey before this turkey is very special to our family everyone loves him I can't lose him it would break all of our hearts.. would I wrap it as well, I also need to know if it normal for them to have like flakey stuff coming off them and since I have him in the house does he need like dust or anything to keep his natural oils.?? Thank you

As a turkey owner such as myself, i have grown extremely close to my birds, and i absolutely hate it when something happens to them. Now, that saying, im not as much of a turkey expert as i probably should be, but I think you would be better off if you go to the turkey forum and make a thread there.

I hope all goes well with your bird!

Thank you so much. I don't know where to go or what to do there isn't a vet around here that knows anything about turkeys, so we're pretty much on our own. Thank you for the website.
