Howdy Folks,

We have no chickens or coop yet but I have some lumber in the bed of my truck to make the coop floor. Its raining here in West Virginia and I go back to work tomorrow. I plan on a 8' by 12' coop and a 12' by 12' run for starters. Still looking at different breeds.

I enjoy the site and everyone's stories and photos. I will try to keep progress posted.

Have a good evening.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with your coop build, hope it dries up over there. If it is not snowing it is raining, weather just isn't cooperating this year. TwoCrows gave you some nice links to check out for breeds, when you have narrowed them down check out the BYC Breeds section for member reviews on a lot of breeds.
You might also like to check out the WV state thread for neighbors https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/10761/anyone-in-wv

Good luck with your poultry raising adventures, and I hope you find everything you need to know. Don't forget to take a look at BYC's very useful learning center (If you haven't already)! The learning center as well as the forum should answer your questions! Glad to have you here! Your coop should be nice, and I really want to see the pics of it!
