It's my turn to send out a warm hello and quick introduction to the BYC community!
My husband and I are raising four chickens in San Rafael, California: a Bantam Silkie, an Americauna, a Golden Sexlink and a Barred Plymouth Rock.
We inherited a chicken coop with the purchase of our home, which seemed serendipitous at the time because we'd been wanting to raise chickens for a while. While our two week old chicks are happily growing in a makeshift brooder inside the house, we're sorting out how to make our existing coop more functional and easier to manage. What is this about sand?
I'm sure we'll have questions and, in time, our own experience to draw from and share with others. In the meantime, we look forward to being a part of BYC!
