Hope this is proper etiquette. Not sure if I'm doing this intro thing right. New to this sight. Have had chickens for sometime. Have a mixed dual purpose flock of about 15 birds. Mostly Buff Orpingtons and different green/blue egg layers. Just got into ducks this year and loving them. Found out about Muscovys and there I've stayed. I love that they are quiet. Have shown minidachshunds for about 25 years and I'm ready for something quiet. Live on a small 10 acre hobby farm. Have sheep (Katahdin) and peacocks (love my peacocks), guineas and of course my dachshunds and the necessary cats on the farm. It's just me and my husband now, raised 4 boys (3 I gave birth to and one that moved in from down the road). Looking forward to typing with y'all.:)

! Please feel free to make yourself at home and share all the knowledge you have. I would love to see some photos of your hens and ducks!

Hi, welcome to BYC!

If you haven't seen it yet, there is a contest going on for a 2016 calendar featuring "other" poultry (like your ducks and peafowl). Check it out...even if you don't want to enter the contest, it's fun seeing all the beautiful birds.

There's also a calendar contest going on for chickens if you would like to see that:

Welcome to Backyard chickens. I used to show Cockers in 70's. Out here Doxies are very, very popular especially Bl/tans and mostly longhaired minis. Our neighbors had a red smooth male and smooth BT female when we were growing up . Nippy - was! Weiny the BT was a sweetheart. Would love to see pics. of your dogs.
